This guide will help you learn how to install Apatar for Windows. To run Apatar on Linux, please read the Instructions to Install Apatar for Linux.

Pre-Installation Requirements

Before you install and configure Apatar, you must provide the following pre-installation requirements.

Hardware:

  • 100 MB of disk space
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • 1GHz processor

Operating System:

  • MS Windows (2000, XP, 2003, Vista)

Installation Process

To install Apatar, please follow these steps:

  1. Download Apatar installation package

  2. Run the ".exe" file
  3. Select components to install:

  4. Choose destination folder

  5. Choose Start menu folder

  6. Wait while Apatar files are being extracted

Once Apatar is installed, you can run the application from the Apatar folder in your system's "Start" menu.

Java Runtime Environment Version Issues

Apatar requires Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.5 to work properly. If you don't have JRE installed, an automated setup wizard will be launched.

Please note that Apatar will ONLY work with JRE 1.5. If you have an older JRE version, or JRE 1.6, which is not currently supported, or multiple JRE versions, reinstallation is required. When installing JRE 1.5 on a system with a different version of the environment previously installed, please make sure to repeat the following steps:

  1. In the Windows Control Panel, run Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Select the item titled J2SE Runtime Environment.
  3. Click Remove.

  4. If there are several J2SE Runtime Environment items, make sure to remove all of them.
  5. Now, open the Program Files folder of your local system disk in Windows Explorer.
  6. Remove the Java folder.

  7. Once the folder has been deleted, please restart your computer.

Finally, you can install JRE 1.5.

You need JRE 1.5 to be installed only..
Otherwise, the versions will conflict.
